?The Seattle nonprofit is announcing a complete platform overhaul and new iPhone app from the local group of innovators working so hard over the past few years, pro bono, to revolutionize the way the nonprofit world works,? he continued.
The mobile app makes it simple to volunteer and should encourage even more people to volunteer than the more than 1,000 now enrolled. Flash Volunteer?s website is also undergoing renovation for better connections between volunteers and organizations.
The social aspects of volunteering make it more appealing and help nonprofits accomplish more. People share their volunteer activity on social sites and motivate their friends to participate. Volunteers and nonprofits create communities willing to give to the people who need it most.
Some of the upcoming events looking for volunteers include a fundraising breakfast, a combined Camp Fire USA and Seattle Mariners event, and a chance to become English conversation partners for recent immigrants.
Set up a personal profile page or one for an organization. You can choose from events close to your neighborhood in the Seattle area or causes that are dear to your heart. Other volunteers can send you ?props,? which involves congratulating you on a job well done.
